'CRUISIN YUMA FOR A CAUSE'
Hello!😁 My name is Aryanna Trujillo, I am 6 years old, I have Lymphedema
in my left foot and toes. Also in my right toes as well. I wear Toe caps and a foot garment for
my left foot and toe caps for my right foot that help for compression. I'm at a age where I'm out growing My garments fast and may be needed or replaced at any time.
Fact: off the shelf garments can cost about 200 dollars. But custom-made garments like mine cost $1,000 or more and is made and shipped all the way from Germany. I also use a compression pump machine($6,000-$10,000) twice a day that helps my lymph node system move fluids through my legs. Did you know this is a world wide health crisis living in the dark. There are More suffering with Lymphedema than everyone with aids, MS, and Parkinson's combined.
Even under the coverage of an amazing health insurance(Aetna) plan provided by her Father.
There is still, little to no coverage on this Disease. Ary has primary Lymphedema and over the years we have had people tell us "Ary doesn't have anything bad, serious or its not cancer." what they don't know is it is so serious. Daily activities, Outings, trips, too much eating out, a unhealthy Diet. The Yuma heat, cold and elevation change can be hard on her.
Managing and maintaining her treatment is essential in slowing
the progression of Lymphedema.
